Busy Beavers Community Nursery

Busy Beavers is located on the outskirts of Braintree, Essex, within a community centre. The centre is situated near King Georges Playing field and small woods and it is adjacent to other playing fields. We utilise the playing fields , and woods to enhance the children's learning, often going on nature walks and exploring the environment.

The Nursery has two main 'feeder' schools, Beckers Green Primary School and Lyons Hall Academy, which is located on the nearby Kings Park Village estate.

We have close links with both schools to ensure a smooth transition to school for the children.

Busy Beavers is a purpose built room, and is able to accommodate a maximum of 32 children. We have a secure garden, the gate is always locked during session times, and the garden is accessed by the children at all times and during all weathers. At Busy Beavers, we feel that the children benefit greatly from learning while outdoors and that this further enhances the children's development. The nursery also has close links with the local Children's centre and we work closely with other childcare professionals, including Health Visitors.

At Busy Beavers, we provide a nurturing environment that encourages development and achievement, in close partnership with parents. Every child is valued as an individual, and all activities we offer are based on their individual needs, age and stage of development.

The Nursery is all inclusive, and we are able to offer support and specific help to those children that have specific learning needs and English as a second language. Staff are trained in Special Education Needs. All staff are trained to Level 3 or above, all staff are paediatric first aid trained and all have a food health and safety certificate. We also have a designated safe guarding lead and a named ENCO to ensure safety and equality at all times. Staff are required to attend regular training, we feel that by enhancing our own learning, we can give the children the best start in education.

At Busy Beavers, we realise that parents are the first and most important educators in their child's life, as such it is of paramount importance to us that we endeavour to build strong relationships between home and nursery and ensure that parents are consulted regarding the development and learning of their child.

We offer Free Early Education for eligible 2 year olds and all 3 and 4 year olds.

All children who are 3 years old are entitled to free early education the term after they are 3 years old. They are entitled to 15 funded hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.

This can be taken during school term times only or stretched out over the whole year. Free early education for 2 year olds is offered to families meeting certain criteria, please ask for details or see ‘Are you eligible with funding?’ at the top of this page.
